After having a wonderful time at Salamanca, Pete, Will and I left mum and dad to venture into the Taste of Tasmania stall while we visited my friend Chernoa and her gorgeous boy Sam. Sam is about 4 days older than Will and Noey and I had been keen for the boys to meet for ages.
We had a lovely visit and got some nice snaps.
Will looking sleepy - I love how Sam has his hand on Will's shoulder.
Will was so trashed by this stage though so we kept the visit short and picked up mum and dad and headed for the Huon. Will was asleep within seconds of being the car and had a semi-decent nap in the car. We had to stop for cherries on the way to the Huon and I was so excited. They really are the yummiest cherries in Aussieland :-)
We were very happy to catch up with the beautiful Watson family. They have been friends of ours since they moved to Deloraine (when we were living in that area). A trip to Hobart usually involves staying with them at least 1 night and just wouldn't feel complete without catching up with them ♥
Will was able to have a BIG nap at Wendy and Rob's place so he would cope with being out a little later than normal, so we could go to the Watson's river for a BBQ and Bonfire for New Years. We had a scrummy Aussie BBQ, a paddle in the river and loved catching up with lots of old friends who were also there to celebrate. We still left about 8:30pm and put Will to bed. Pete and I were in bed by 10:30pm and were lucky Will slept until about8am the next morning. I hadn't had a long sleep like that in months and it felt amazing. I think once we have a few kids and they're older we might be a bit more adventurous in our New Years celebrations but I loved going to bed early and don't regret it at all :-)
Will absolutely loved the Watson's dog, Nala. He even said her name a couple of times which surprised us all. She was treating him like one of her pups and at one stage was trying to get hold of him by the scruff of his neck - we rescued him pretty quickly :-)
Here's Will playing peek-a-boo with Nala
I got to give a quick hug to the gorgeous Bell couple all loved up after their wedding and honeymoon. Wish we could have stayed longer to spend more time with them.
We ended our trip with a dinner with great friend Emma (Wendy and Rob's daughter), her hubby and gorgeous girls Tess and Hazel. Another friend, Beccy and her kids joined us too which was awesome. It was so nice to catch up with great friends while we were in Tassie.
